We stopped by the Fat Shallot on a whim. I had the turkey sandwich, which came on a very fresh, soft pretzel roll bun with lots of greens. The fish tacos were very good too and had two large pieces of fish! Worth trying if you're debating between options.
The staff at the counter gave great recommendations. We went on a weekday afternoon and there were few people there. It's a good spot to hang out and relax without feeling rushed. The decor is fun and cutesy, with dried flowers at the tables. Would definitely go back if I'm in the area again.

I've walked by this place coming into work for almost 6 months and always thought about trying it. Holy hell, I've been missing out! Cheeseburger and fries $20 plus tip and yes, you need to tip because they are working hard for us. Cheeseburger was amazing and almost too much food for this 6'5" guy. The fries were ok but next time I'll know the burger is more than enough. Extremely fast and friendly service, gets crazy busy during lunch but worth a bit of a wait for food made to order. Check them out!
I had a great time here with my friend. Logan helped by recommended the best drinks and was very friendly. It was busy but the service was fast and reliable. Good vibes overall!
Never disappoints. If you're near one stop in! Truffle fries are amazing as well as other menu options. Service is quick and staff is respectful. Hope to see more locations! Spread the word and make this place big!
Classic burger i got was soo delicious. very juicy and hearty!! my drink was hibiscuis and something else, soo terribly tart hahah so not my cup of tea but when I went home and added more honey, it was way better. Cashier was super sweet!!

(both the Evanston and Gillson Beach locations)! The food is delicious, the service always has a smile and the margs and ice cream at the beach make me think I'm on vacation. It is one of the gems of the North Shore community.

This is not the first time we have we enjoyed the e food and atmosphere at the Fat Shallot and it won’t be the last. We have dined inside and out and both Crystal & Trevor took great care of us. The food is fresh and excellent. We have consistently ordered their cheese curds which are always good but I had their turkey sandwich on a pretzel roll this time and it was outstanding! My wife had their burger (a role reversal) and it was delicious without a single drop of grease. If you have friends in the area you can leave them the gift of a free drink on their board in the back room and that is always a fun surprise. 10/10 and has become one of our local favorites.
Delish and so fun! Love that you can ride your bike grab a family dinner and head home. Or end your night by chilling on the patio with friends. Service is awesome, food is great, and location is easy! Can’t beat Central St in Evanston!!
I've made multiple stops here and have tried a few different sandwiches, but the BLT is a favorite. Not sure if potato salad is still on the menu but remember it being yummy as well. Bonus points for outdoor seating!

Grace and the entire Fat Shallot team were a delight to work with. We had the Fat Shallot food truck cater our wedding welcome reception. We chose the “Unlimited” option which included three sliders (we chose buffalo chicken, truffle BLT, and grilled cheese) and two sides (truffle fries, and traditional fries) and every option was delicious. There was more than enough food for all of our 110 guests and there were even leftovers. Leading up to the event, Grace and her team accommodated all dietary restrictions and even ensured all options could be done in a gluten free format. We would 10000% recommend the Fat Shallot food truck for any catering event.

I had the hot chicken sandwich with truffle fries. Absolutely delish and the sandwich is HUGE, crispy and tangy. The fries were very tasty and the sauce was perfect for dipping. Very cozy atmosphere with inside and outside seating. Friendly staff. The menu is not overpowering which I appreciated. Six sandwiches on the menu from what I recall which I think is a smart move.
